Awareness agent – Residual Materials Management (Hochelaga-Maisonneuve)

Main responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the GMR Manager and in collaboration with the Project Manager, the Agent will be responsible for:

– Providing support to citizens and merchants, mainly through door-to-door canvassing, but also through kiosks, telephone support and personalized accompaniment.

The agent interventions will serve to:

o Inform citizens and merchants of the changes to collection schedules;

o Explain the reasons for the new approach;

o Pass on tips and tricks to reduce the impact of the new collection schedule on their daily lives;

o Raise awareness of good sorting practices at source;

– Enter collected data into a tracking tool;

– Participate in coordination meetings;

– Possibility to drive the company truck over short distances to gain quicker access to more outlying parts of the borough.


– Interest in waste management/Environmental issues;

– Experience in customer service and awareness, an asset;

– Available to travel in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and occasionally to our offices,

– Enjoy working in the field;

– Interpersonal skills, dynamism and tenacity;

– Thoroughness and respect for procedures;

– Experience in outreach;

– Be available and comfortable with regular travel, solo or as part of a team;

– Driver’s license, an important asset;

– Bilingual, (French/English).

Working conditions:

– Salary: between $19.50/h and $23.50/h depending on our salary policy.

– Start date: February

– Location: Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in the field and Mile-end in our offices

– Duration: 8 months

– Schedule: 10-15h/week

– Reimbursement of telephone subscription (up to $40/month)
