“Leg Day” Contest

Participation Regulations

This contest is organized by Earth Day Canada as part of the annual Earth Day campaign and will take place from March 21 to April 22, 2024, at midnight. Six winners will be drawn in a national draw, which will take place on April 26. The winners will be contacted privately and will receive, in order of drawing, an iGo electric bicycle, two annual subscriptions to public transportation in their locality, and three subscriptions to Econofitness or Fit4Less gyms depending on their locality. Three regional draws will also take place on the same day in the cities of Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, along with four additional draws in the province of Quebec, under the same participation conditions. For the Vancouver region, an annual subscription to the mobi bike-sharing service will be drawn. For the Toronto region, ten annual subscriptions to the Bike Share Toronto bike-sharing service will be drawn. For the Montreal region, ten monthly subscriptions and one seasonal subscription to the Bixi bike-sharing service, as well as an annual ARTM subscription, will also be drawn. For the province of Quebec, four $250 vouchers, valid for any destination within the Quebec-Windsor corridor of VIA Rail, will be drawn.
 
The “Leg Day Contest” (the “Contest”) is held on the Earth Day Canada website (the “Contest Organizer”) and the Strava application by selecting the Earth Day challenge.
 
The contest runs from March 21, 2024, at noon Eastern Time (ET) to April 22, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”).
 
Eligibility
The Contest is open to all individuals legally residing in Canada, who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of their participation and have a valid email address.
 
Exclusions: Employees, representatives, and/or agents of the Contest Organizer, ambassadors and influencers, prize suppliers, and their advertising or promotion agencies, as well as any other entity involved in the design, production, implementation, administration, or execution of the Contest (collectively, the “Affected Parties”), as well as, respectively, any person with whom such excluded Participant is domiciled or any member of their immediate family (each, an “Excluded Participant”). For the purposes of the Contest rules (the “Rules”), the term “immediate family” includes the father, mother, brother, sister, child, husband, wife, or common-law spouse of an Excluded Participant. For clarity, an eligible participant who is not an Excluded Participant is hereinafter referred to as a “Participant”.
 
Each participant must participate exclusively in their own name and act solely for their own benefit.
 
How To Register And Participate
 
No Purchase Necessary
 
Internet access and a valid email address are required for registration and participation in the Contest (“Participation”).
 
To participate in the Contest, two options are possible:
 
— Visit the Earth Day Canada website earthday.ca/leg-day, enter your address and that of your workplace, click on “calculate” then “Participate” and on the next page enter your details to be eligible. You must enter 10 one-way trips or 5 round trips on the contest page between March 21 and April 22, 2024, to be eligible for the draw. You cannot enter more than one round trip per day.
 
— Go to the Strava mobile app and select the “Earth Day Leg Day” challenge, once you have completed the challenge you will be redirected to a registration page, enter your details, and select “Strava Contest” to submit your application. You must complete 10 active one-way trips of at least 24 minutes and identify them on Strava as “shuttle” during the period from April 1 to April 22, 2024.
 
By participating in the Contest, you agree to be contacted by Earth Day Canada regarding your participation in the Contest.
 
To be eligible for the Contest, your Participation must be submitted and received during the Contest Period. All eligible Participations submitted and received during the Contest Period will be included in the prize draw.
 
The Contest Organizer reserves the right to delete, erase, hide, and/or modify any published element at any time and without notice. It does not endorse any elements published, stored, or downloaded by participants or any third party, and assumes no responsibility for these elements or any loss or damage suffered.
 
You understand that you are providing your personal information to Earth Day Canada. The personal information you provide will be used by the Contest Organizers and its partners to administer and manage this Contest, subject to the uses authorized by you as part of your Participation. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding this Contest should be directed to Earth Day Canada.
 
Prizes And Approximate Retail Value
 
Six prizes (6) will be offered during the national contest.
 
First prize: one (1) iGo bike brand bicycle worth $2700.
 
Second and third prizes: one (1) annual public transportation subscription for the locality of each of the two winners. Earth Day will pay the exact amount of the subscription up to a maximum of $1500 per subscription.
 
Fourth, fifth, and sixth prizes: one (1) annual “Econo” gym subscription to Econofitness valued at $299 for the selected individual residing in Quebec, or one (1) annual gym subscription to Fit4Less valued at approximately $250 according to applicable taxes for winning individuals residing in other Canadian provinces.
 
The total value of all prizes offered in this Contest is approximately five thousand dollars ($5000).
 
Twenty-seven (27) prizes will be offered in the contest, distributed among regional draws in the Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal areas, and in the province of Quebec. These draws will take place after the national draw, and winners of the national contest will not be eligible for the regional draws. Participants will be selected for the regional draws based on their postal code provided during contest registration.
 
One (1) prize in the Vancouver region: one (1) annual subscription to the mobi bike-sharing service.
 
Ten (10) prizes in the Toronto region: ten (10) annual subscriptions to the Bike Share Toronto bike-sharing service.
 
Twelve (12) prizes in the Montreal region: ten (10) monthly subscriptions and one (1) seasonal subscription to the Bixi bike-sharing service, as well as one (1) annual ARTM subscription.
 
Four (4) $250 vouchers valid for any destination within the Quebec-Windsor corridor of VIA Rail.
 
The total value of all prizes offered in the three regional draws in this Contest is approximately three thousand four hundred dollars ($3400).
 
The Prize will be awarded by the Contest Organizer.
 
Each prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, or exchanged for cash (unless explicitly authorized by the Contest Organizer, at its sole discretion). No prize substitutions will be possible, except at the discretion of the Contest Organizer. A prize will be awarded only to individuals who have completed all steps of the contest on the Earth Day Canada website and respond within seven (7) days to messages sent by Earth Day Canada following the drawing of their name in the lottery.
 
Choice Of Winners
As part of the national contest, a draw will be held on April 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM (ET) at the offices of Earth Day Canada, located at 5818 Boulevard Saint-Laurent, H2T 1T3, Montreal (Quebec). During this draw, six (6) participants will be randomly selected electronically from all entries collected or received during the contest period,in accordance with these Rules.
 
The regional draws will also take place on April 26, following the national draw, at the Earth Day offices. On this occasion, one participant will be selected from the Vancouver region, ten participants from the Toronto region, and twelve participants from the Montreal region, from all Entries collected or received during the Contest Period, in accordance with these Rules.
 
Chance Of Winning
The chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries submitted and received during the contest period, by these regulations. Each person may enter the Contest once per day on the Earth Day Canada website throughout the duration of the Contest. Participants must complete at least five round trips or ten one-way trips between March 21, 2024, and April 22, 2024.
 
For individuals participating in the contest via the Strava challenge, they must complete at least ten one-way trips with a minimum duration of twenty-four minutes to complete the challenge and have a chance to win one of the prizes.
 
Contact Of Selected Participants
The Contest Organizer, or a designated representative, will make at least (2) attempts to communicate via email with the individuals drawn, using their email address as provided for participation in this Contest. If, after seven (7) days following the Draw Date, it proves impossible to reach any of the selected individuals, or if the notice sent to them is returned undeliverable, that individual will, at the sole discretion of the Contest Organizers, be disqualified (and forfeit all rights to the prize in question). In such a case, the Contest Organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion and if time permits, to randomly select another eligible participant from the remaining eligible Entries (if applicable, the provisions outlined in this section will apply to the newly selected participant).
 
Before Being Confirmed As A Prize Winner, each selected participant must: a) provide a first name and last name as well as a valid postal address for the Organizer to proceed with the postal delivery of the prize.
 
If the selected person: a) does not respond within seven (7) days to messages sent by Earth Day Canada, b) cannot accept (or refuses to accept) the prize as awarded for any reason whatsoever, and/or c) is deemed to have violated these Rules (as determined by the Contest Organizers in their sole discretion), he or she will be disqualified (and forfeit the prize) and the Contest Organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion and if time permits, to randomly select another eligible participant from the other eligible Entries received (if applicable, the provisions outlined in this paragraph will apply to the newly selected participant).
 
Limit of one (1) prize per Participant per household.
 
Each winner consents to their name and statements related to the Contest as well as any materials and photographs being published, reproduced, or otherwise used by or on behalf of the Contest Organizers or in their name for advertising or other promotional or commercial purposes conducted by or on behalf of the Contest Organizers, in any existing or future medium, including print, radio, television, and the Internet, without further notice or additional compensation.
 
General Terms And Conditions
 
All entries become the property of the Contest Organizer. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
 
Decisions of the Contest Organizer are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest, including any decision regarding the validity or disqualification of entries or participants. By participating in this Contest, participants agree to abide by these Rules. Participants may be disqualified at any time, at the sole discretion of the Contest Organizer, if found to have violated these rules for any reason.
 
The Contest Organizer reserves the right to withdraw, modify, or suspend this Contest (or modify these Rules) in any way, due to an error, technical problem, computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause.
 
Any deliberate attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest (at the sole discretion of the Contest Organizer) constitutes a violation of criminal and civil laws. If necessary, the Contest Organizer reserves the right to seek remedies and recover damages to the extent permitted by law. The Contest Organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend this Contest, or to modify these Rules, in any way, due to accident, printing error, administrative error, or any other error, for any reason, without prior notice or obligation.
 
The Contest Organizer reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to modify the Contest schedule or any of the dates specified in these Rules without notice, when necessary, in order to verify compliance with these Rules by any participant or entry, or due to technical issues or in any circumstances which, in the opinion of the Contest Organizer and at its sole discretion, may affect the proper administration of the Contest by these Rules, or for any other reason.
 
By participating in this Contest, each participant authorizes the Contest Organizer and its agents and/or representatives to retain, share, and use the personal information provided in their entry solely to administer the Contest and award the Prize, including, but not limited to, communicating with the participant regarding the Contest and their participation. You may also receive additional communications from Earth Day Canada and/or third-party partners (as applicable) regarding their products, services, upcoming contests, and promotional offers if you consent to receive such communications on the Contest Website. You may at any time, during or after the Contest, withdraw the consent you have given to receive additional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in such communications.
 
The personal information provided will be used by the Contest Organizer to administer and manage this Contest and the Website, all by the Contest Organizer’s privacy policies, if any, subject to the uses you have authorized as part of your entry. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding this Contest should be directed to the Contest Organizer.
