Isabelle Béliveau

From a very young age, Isabelle was often distressed by environmental changes and wanted to take action to preserve natural environments. After studying bioecology and environmental studies, she became interested in social psychology, ecoemotions and their role in action taking. In 2019, she founded the NPO Éco-motion, which focuses on psychological well-being when faced with unprecedented socio-environmental changes and offers media and services to help people and organizations adapt to the climate crisis. Normalizing discussions about emotions is important to Isabelle because she knows that it’s what brings us all together. She therefore speaks openly about her experience with borderline personality disorder, which allowed her to form the meaning and message behind her Éco-motion project: the emotions that make us suffer can be our best allies and sensitivity is a strength that allows us to cultivate resilience.
