How can I take care of the planet?

As part of the 2021 Earth Day campaign, under the theme of Take Care of the Planet, Earth Day Canada hopes to raise awareness among Canadians about the urgency of taking action for the environment and to encourage them to take concrete action to take care of the planet on a daily basis. Click the button below to discover the 2021 edition of the Earth Day campaign that features, with irony and absurdity, animals that have to clean up their polluted environments themselves.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

We all care for the planet it our own way. It can be simple things like cooking an extra vegetarian meal per week and picking up trash per day, or larger projects like shoreline cleanups with your community. This year, for Earth Day, we invite you to share the eco-friendly habits you have adopted and/or the actions you want to put in place to take care of the planet. By committing to the environment one step at a time, we inspire change on a larger scale April 22 and every day of the year.

Step 1 – Decide what actions you will take to care for the planet.

Identify your habits and actions that contribute to an eco-responsible lifestyle.
Need some help deciding how to act? Here are some ideas for activities
at home and in your community.

Step 2 – Share your actions

Go to Instagram and Facebook to share your activities.
Use the stickers and gifs created in honor of Earth Day to liven up your posts (#takecareoftheplanet, #April22).

Step 3 – Inspire those around you to take action

Like the musical duo Hansom Ēli who suggests 3 simple gestures for the environment,
share your actions in a story and invite those around you to do the same.
