Team Manager for the Action Reduction Department

As a Manager in the Action Reduction department at Jour de la Terre, you will play a central role in helping to carry out various projects. You will be responsible for leading a team of project managers, advisors and agents specialized in waste management. Your mission will be to develop and implement key strategies, collaborate with various stakeholders and effectively coordinate your team’s activities. Role and responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage resources both time and human resources allocated to GMR projects and day-to-day operations in order to achieve defined objectives within pre-established timelines and budget limits.
  • Support the Program Director in team management and professional development.
  • Ensure the achievement of results by developing and monitoring department-specific performance indicators, as well as implementing action plans to promote and increase the visibility of the various GMR projects.
  • Ensure the implementation of strategic plans and guarantee the optimal delivery of projects and operations, in alignment with the various service offerings and general and specific objectives.
  • Work closely with customers, partners and other stakeholders to develop mutually beneficial cooperative relationships in carrying out assigned missions.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with a view to meeting stakeholders’ needs, while identifying best practices and trends applicable to the various mandates.
  • Contribute to the annual planning and management of human, financial and material resources required for operations. In collaboration with the Director, define and prioritize the allocation of these resources.
  • Apply established guidelines, provide support and advice to team members and other departments regarding operational challenges encountered.
  • Coordinate the activities and efforts of team members to maximize efficiency and the achievement of set objectives, while ensuring optimal management and organization.
  • Travel occasionally throughout the territory to meet with partners, and take part in conventions and other networking events.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and customer experience standards throughout the execution of the team’s activities.

Desired qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, environment or related field, or other combination of experience and background relevant to the position.
  • 3 to 5 years’ professional experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of waste management.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
  • Available for occasional travel throughout the province.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving.
  • Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite.

Benefits :

  • Salary: between $30/hr and $34/hr according to current salary grid
  • Schedule: 37.5 h/week, full-time, permanent
  • Location: Montreal, office in the heart of the Mile-end district, with possibility of telecommuting
  • Travel: occasional travel within the province is to be expected
