Earth Day 2019

#FreeYourPlay with Kamik and Earth Day Canada
Connect to Nature and Make Your Play Count

Kamik_white_logo

What kind of children are we raising to protect our planet? Are they resilient, confident, socially inclusive and connected to nature? According to UN research, children and youth in Canada aren’t any of these things, and it’s largely due to a sharp decrease in the amount of time they spend outside, engaged in unstructured play.

For Earth Day 2019, we are asking you to #FreeYourPlay with Kamik and Earth Day Canada — join us in growing the outdoor play movement!

Are we squeezing too many activities into our children’s schedule? #FreeYourPlay

About EarthPLAY

EarthPLAY is Earth Day Canada’s program to protect and create outdoor play opportunities for children across Canada. EarthPLAY works with schools, parents, recreation centres and community groups to integrate unstructured, outdoor free play into the day-to-day lives of children ages 5 to 15. Learn more at earthplay.ca.

About Earth Day Canada

Founded in 1990, Earth Day Canada is a national charity that inspires and supports people across the country to connect with nature and build resilient communities. We lead an annual Earth Day campaign every year on April 22nd, in conjunction with free, year-round, award-winning programs that get people of all ages outside, interacting with the environment — this, in turn, fosters an intrinsically motivated, enduring commitment to stewardship and conservation.

We work closely with school-aged children and youth through our renowned EcoKids and EarthPLAY programs, focused on putting self-directed outdoor play back into the lives of children by addressing play provision in schools, parks, streets and community green spaces. We engage diverse communities and help our corporate partners achieve their sustainability goals with our employee engagement platform. Learn more at earthday.ca.
