Creative and Eco-Friendly Vision Board for the New Year!

Tips and tricks

January is synonymous with… drumroll, please: the famous New Year’s resolutions! Raise your hand if you, too, have started the year full of good intentions, only to find yourself feeling defeated by March (or even February, let’s be honest) when things didn’t go as planned.

This year, I propose a gentler, more compassionate approach: imagine and set your intentions for 2025 with a creative, simple, and eco-friendly vision board. The idea behind creating a vision board is to visually represent your wishes and aspirations for the upcoming year through a collage of images and words. Here’s how to do it in a few fun and pressure-free steps.

1. Gather your materials (and check your recycling bin)

No need to rush to the craft store. Use what you already have on hand:

Scissors, colored pencils, glue (Team DIY: flour + water for homemade glue — does that ring a bell?).

Old magazines (Croque-livres, neighbors, family, friends, colleagues — let’s ask those around us for a little generosity!).

A sturdy base: cereal box, shipping cardboard, back of an old notebook — your recycling bin have some treasures.

No cardboard in sight? A simple sheet of paper will do. You can always glue it onto a sturdier base later or slide it into a frame you already have.

Alternative: If you’re the kind to avoid sticky fingers, opt for a bulletin board with pins. Simple, practical, and mess-free.

2. Create an inspiring atmosphere

Light your favorite candles (yes, you deserve them too!), put on a relaxing playlist, and let yourself be present in the moment. You don’t need to be Picasso; the key is to have fun and let your intuition take the lead.

3. Take a moment for introspection (no pressure!)

Before grabbing your scissors, take a few minutes to reflect on what you truly want for the new year. No incense or inner guru required to gain clarity; I promise. Here are some prompts to help you get started:

What positive impact do I want to bring to the world?

How can I make more time for doing what I love?

When do I feel most alive and full of energy?

What are my top priorities for change in 2025?

Is there something new I’d like to learn (a skill, a language, a hobby)?

Let your ideas flow naturally, or simply cut out words and images that inspire you as you browse through magazine pages. Intuition: 1 – Rational Brain: 0.

4. Ready, set, create!

This is THE moment. Let go, trust your creative instincts, and have fun! Cut, paste, layer images and words that resonate with you. Add splashes of color, a bit of paint here, some doodles there — in short, let your imagination take the lead of your creation.

5. Display your masterpiece where you’ll see it daily

Don’t let your vision board end up forgotten in a drawer! Place it somewhere you’ll see it regularly: on your home office wall, near your bed, or even in a more discreet spot if you prefer to keep your intentions private.

A vision board evolves!

Remember, your vision board isn’t set in stone. It’s a living, flexible tool that grows with you. If something no longer resonates with you during the year, that’s okay! Adapt and adjust it to match your current reality.

So, are you ready to let your creativity shine for 2025? May your vision board guide you towards a year full of beautiful intentions… and zero guilt!
